Terms of Service
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Kayts ("we", reachable at [email protected]) about using the Kayts website and chat (the "service"). Until Kayts opens to the public, the website only collects sign-ups for the waitlist; these terms apply to you once you create an account. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. If you use Kayts as a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer law gives you.
2. Who can use Kayts
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf. Until we can collect that consent, accounts for users under 16 cannot be created.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to any purchase of a paid plan.
- You must give a true date of birth. We may close accounts where it is clearly false.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google or with a link sent to your email address. Sign-in with Apple, Microsoft and ORCID is coming. Keep access to that email or account safe: whoever controls it can use your Kayts account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it. You can delete your account at any time.
4. What Kayts is, and its limits
- Kayts is an AI assistant. Its answers are generated automatically by language models and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when they sound confident.
- Answers are not professional advice: not legal, medical, financial, tax or psychological advice. Check anything important with a qualified person or a reliable source.
- In Research, Kayts answers from the papers and files you add, and can still misread or misquote them. Check the sources it cites.
- You decide how you use the answers, and you are responsible for that use.
5. What you may not do
You may not use Kayts to:
- break the law, or help someone else break it,
- create content that sexualises minors, promotes terrorism, or harasses, threatens or defames people,
- get help building weapons that can cause mass harm, or malware,
- violate other people's privacy or intellectual property, including by uploading files you have no right to share,
- attack, overload or test the security of the service without our written permission, or get around plan limits, including by creating more than one account (one person, one account),
- collect answers automatically to build a competing model, or resell access without our agreement,
- pretend that AI-generated content was written by a person where that would mislead others.
6. Your content
- What you write and upload stays yours. The answers Kayts writes for you are yours to use, as far as the law allows.
- You give us permission to store and process your content in order to run the service for you.
- If "Help improve Kayts" is on, your conversations may also be used to fine-tune future Kayts models, in a later stage of development, as explained in the Privacy Policy (section 4). We are not training on conversations yet. For adults it is on by default; you can switch it off anytime in Settings → Privacy.
- Similar questions can get similar answers, so others may receive answers like yours.
7. Plans and payments
Kayts has a free plan (Free) and a paid plan (Pro) with different models and usage limits, described on the plans page. Pro is not on sale yet. Before it is, we will add the payment terms here: prices, billing, renewal and cancellation, and your right as an EU consumer to withdraw within 14 days.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Kayts available, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. Kayts is in early access, so features and models may change. If a change significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Kayts and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Unless the breach is serious or the law requires otherwise, we will warn you first and explain why.
10. Liability
We are responsible for providing the service with due care. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on AI answers (section 4), or for damage caused by breaking these terms. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intentional harm or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
11. Complaints and disputes
Send complaints to [email protected]. We answer within 14 days. Polish law applies; if you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the law of the country where you live. Consumers can use out-of-court dispute resolution, for example through the consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the provincial trade inspectorate (Inspekcja Handlowa).
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will tell you about important changes in Kayts or by email at least 14 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then. The version and date are at the top of this page.
